Twitch's Security Breach Is No Game

ALERT SUMMARY

Twitch, with around 45-55 million users, announced that data security breach was exposed due to a system misconfiguration which subsequently allowed hackers access to their digital operations which could lead to more breaches and exposures. Twitch states that the exposure did not include user credentials or credit card information. Also, that it appears only users in the creator community have had some of their personal account information hacked. For these users, Twitch has reset all Stream keys as a precaution.

The Verge and others report that it is Twitch itself that has had it's code and other proprietary information breached and reposted publicly. This public posting not only included Twitch source code and tools but also the proprietary information of affiliates and partners including Twitch creators who have had their payouts breached. Twitch has stated they are still investigating the matter.
